Participants will be introduced to traditional painting methods and learn how to incorporate the nature of their found material into their final piece. Read MoreFor urban dwellers such as ourselves, there are some exciting solutions to composting that overcome the challenges of living in small and crowded spaces. Some of these solutions involve fermentation, others recruit the magnificent worm. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the urban-friendly vermi (worm) compost system. We will build a worm compost as a group, discuss how to feed and care for it, and practice harvesting. This workshop is for those enthusiastic to dig into the soil as well for those a little more hesitant; a friendly introduction to the way the worms.

Compared to other types of waste, paper is one of the easiest materials to recycle by hand and can transformed into beautiful pieces of textured paper for further note taking or art making. In this workshop, participants will learn how to make handmade paper from paper waste. Taking place over 2-4 sessions, participants will have the chance to experience the entire paper-making process (soaking, blending, and drying).
