NADAS Istanbul invites you to join us for an exhibition of the faces we find around us - the faces of people we can’t be near to, who we have to view through a screen. All images here have been made during the time of forced or voluntary quarantine, and we hope to build on this gallery as the days and weeks go by. Take some time to explore these faces here - in our online gallery. We also invite you to contribute your own portrait to this exhibition and enjoy another’s company through pen, or paint, or pencil.

To contribute to our online gallery, please submit your work via this form

*We recommend a scanner app like Mini Scanner or Scan Genius to make sure your portrait looks its best. We appreciate if your submissions are .jpg or .png files under 3MB and with a resolution higher than 72ppi. If you feel comfortable, include your name, location, and the platform that you used for the exercise (Skype, Zoom, FaceTime).

To make a portrait for our gallery, read on!

Step one
Find a partner to draw with. If you don’t already know someone who wants to participate, please get in touch and we will connect you with someone from our community. Agree on a time to spend at least 20 minutes drawing each other.

Step two
If you are a portrait pro, continue as you normally would. We have no restrictions on style or medium.

If you are not, you can use this guide to help you start.

Step three
Send us your drawing via this form, as a .jpg or .png. We recommend taking a picture in full sunlight, or using a scanner app so your image looks as great digitally as in real life.
